Champions League fixtures’ very first round is definitely an exciting area of the year, and Napoli v Liverpool is absolutely one of the matches of this week.
There is a sense of vu about this one: these 2 sides were obviously at the group last season, with all Liverpool narrowly qualifying for the knockouts in Napoli’s cost after a straight shootout at Anfield. The rest is history.
The matchup is no less intriguing this time round, and it is a one. Napoli have had a madcap beginning a defeat at Juventus followed-ed a 4-3 off success against Fiorentina , before a 2-0 home win against Sampdoria. It’s been somewhat erratic in the side.
Liverpool have unsurprisingly made a 100% start to the year, and while they literally unbeatable at Anfield, Carlo Ancelotti will feel he could be aggressive with the Reds on home land.
Last year, the two sides appreciated closely-fought 1-0 home successes, and while I’m not going to back a result here, I will suggest under 2.5 goals, which is priced fairly generously.
Liverpool dropped in the past year’s collection to Red Star Belgrade and PSG, along with a streaky away win at the Premier League this year at Southampton does suggest there stay on the road do some vulnerabilities. ??
It’s easy to anticipate a goalfest judging from the results of both sides to date this season, but those fixtures are always cagey–using a Bad start to a Champions League team campaign generally spelling disaster, unless you are Spurs–along with even 5/4 to get a relatively low-key event on Tuesday is worth financing. ??
Liverpool were poor at this floor last year, and with Liverpool and Napoli possessing defensive lines–marshalled by Virgil van Dijk and Kalidou Koulibaly respectively–that might not be the thriller.
Napoli look a fairly dirty side, amassing a whopping nine cards within their first three league fixtures, together with every one being given to a different player!
Compare this who have received only two yellow cards in five Premier League fixtures–and it’s little surprise I’m financing a player reserved before Liverpool to be seen by Napoli.
