Sol Campbell interviewed for vacant Southend job

Sol Campbell has been interviewed for the vacant Southend United project.
As he has awakened efforts to install a successor the ex-England, Arsenal and Tottenham defender is among those to have spoken with Shrimpers chairman Ron Martin.
Campbell, who left struggling League Two team Macclesfield earlier this year, is understood to have been interviewed last week however, has yet to attend a match.
Former Barcelona, Manchester United and Celtic star Henrik Larsson has been commended for the function at the Sky Bet League One club and been spotted at Roots Hall.
Chairman Martin is said to have travelled to Sweden in recent weeks, although defender Adam Barrett has also been linked with the job.
It is known that is inclined to take place although martin had hoped to make an appointment.
Caretaker manager Gary Waddock is expected to be to Priestfield this weekend.
