One, Hard Rock Casino, we expect to go live with a retail publication this quarter, as Hard Rock has signed a Letter of Intent with Gambling Innovation Group for an omni-channel sportsbook platform.
As mentioned, Freehold Raceway, possessed by Penn National Gaming and Greenwood Gaming (owner of Parx Casino at Pennsylvania) is also a prime candidate to enter the land-based sports betting kingdom.
On the online front, there is much more room to maneuver as each sports betting license holder is eligible for three branded sites, or skins. Some, like Monmouth Park and Resorts AC, have already debuted two skins, but a lot of others, including heavyweights Tropicana, Hard Rock Casino, and Golden Nugget, haven’t launched any. Anticipate multiple AC-branded online sportsbooks to pop up in the not-so-distant near future, and for other businesses such as the Kindred Group (now adapting with Hard Rock Casino) and Australian-based PointsBet (partnered with all the Meadowlands) to also launch online books in New Jersey.

Regulations, taxes, and earnings It was just a few short weeks following the U.S. Supreme Court kicked PASPA into the wayside that New Jersey passed sports gambling legislation. Regulation of the business was passed off to the NJ Division of Gaming Enforcement, the exact same agency that handles oversight for Atlantic City casinos and online gambling sites in New Jersey. Fortunately, the state had been primed to offer sports betting for many decades, allowing regulators to release emergency regulations just two weeks following Murphy penned the sport betting bill into law.
New Jersey law mandates that only qualified casinos and racetracks be eligible for a sports betting license, which online sportsbook operators have to be partnered with a permit holder. Other factors of interest:

Wagering on college sports is allowed, unless a New Jersey college or university team is involved. Then it is a no-go.
Permit holders have a 270-day window (transactional waiver) to run online sportsbooks at the absence of a bodily sportsbook.
New Jersey does not pay an ethics fee to professional sports leagues in market for league and data supervision, nor will it probably ever.

Lately, New Jersey needed a one year window in the inception of PASPA to pass legislation legalizing sports betting from the country, but political chaos doomed the effort. Because of this, New Jersey was effectively shut out of sports betting for another 25 years.
Shortly after sports betting regulations were published in August 2012, professional sports leagues filed a lawsuit against Christie and New Jersey. The upcoming several years were riddled with disappointment for New Jersey, since it first lost in the district courts, then double in the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. Then in June 2014, the state was delivered another catastrophic blow, if the U.S. Supreme Court refused to take New Jersey’s allure.
Also in 2014, the always staunch gaming proponent Lesniak went to focus on new sports betting legislation that would function as a type of PASPA workaround. The same result, with New Jersey and Christie once more losing to the leagues in the courts. But by this time, the prevailing attitude toward sports betting was beginning to show some cracks. Guided by this, New Jersey once more asked the U.S. Supreme Court to hear its case. This time, it accepted, hearing oral arguments in Christie v. NCAA (afterwards Murphy v. NCAA) on December 4, 2017.
Five-and-a-half month later, on May 14, 2018, the Court announced its decision, voting 7-2 which PASPA violated the 10th amendment, and deeming it completely unconstitutional by a 6-3 count. Only a couple of weeks later, New Jersey passed a brand new sports betting bill, and in a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Monmouth Park sportsbook on June 14, 2018, the business was born.Today, it stinks.
