Throughout the MLB Postseason, the league tournament series are baseball’s version of the Final Four.
Both National League and the American League hold their own championship show. Each is a best-of-seven series where the winner has to win in the baseball playoffs. The next round is the World Series, where the winner will take home the championship trophy.
The quest for the NL pennant ends using the NLCS and begins with the NLDS. The rules for the National League Championship Series do not change as the pitcher nevertheless has to occupy a spot in the batting order since there’s no utilization of their designated hitter, unlike the American League Championship Series.
Below, you can find updated series information following each game of the NLCS. At Gamblers Palace, we break all of the odds, stats and situations so you can cash your bets at the top baseball sportsbooks on earth!
The Dodgers win the pennant! The Chicago Cubs avoided a sweep at the hands of the Los Angeles Dodgers, something that the Arizona Diamondbacks could not perform from the NLDS. However, the defending World Series Champions will not get a chance to try and repeat. The Dodgers have advanced to the World Series for the first time since 1988 and the Cubs are on their way home for winter. Los Angeles has mastered this postseason, winning six consecutive games before falling Game 4. While L.A.’s been a bit streaky this season, it appears that the loss didn’t knock on the Dodgers off course as they bounced back in a big way with a devastating Game 5 victory over Chicago.
