With 16 drivers, the playoff field is set after 26 races. The 10-race, four-round playoff was made to make a Final Four-like showdown for the season finale Nov. 19 in Homestead-Miami Speedway.
While Jimmie Johnson will be going for his eighth NASCAR Cup Series championship, Martin Truex Jr. is in fact the odds-on favored to win everything. The points leader has a 20-point head-start because of four race wins and 18 stage wins – seven over the next-closest motorist (Kyle Busch).
