Italian GP: Drivers, pundits, bosses on Monza’s bizarre qualifying finish

The way the paddock reacted to one of their most extraordinary – and – bizarre – finishes to your Formula 1 qualifying session in memory…
Martin Brundle:”That is one of the hardest things I have ever noticed in F1.”
Karun Chandhok:”It was phenomenal. Shambolic and eccentric, I have never noticed anything like it”
Nico Rosberg:”You are not permitted to do so, however they were doing it. They’re all bang to rights!”
Paul Di Resta:”I looks silly when you’ve got professional teams using this tech and everybody overlooks.”
Anthony Davidson:”You put more drag the cars, like this season, you receive a better slipstream. By tweaking the cars, you get this recipe. The straights are somewhat more significant.”
Nico Hulkenberg:”We are all looking for a tow because in case you’d like to do the supreme fastest lap time that is what you want about this. It has so powerful so much lap time. You lose about the straights, when you drive in your own and also you can not make that time at the corners up. We ended up with such ailments. Obviously it was somewhat weird and strange for sure.”
Carlos Sainz: Together with all these draggier cars this year that the tow is worth a minute and everybody desires that half an instant.”
Daniel Ricciardo: Everybody has been simply trying to find a bit too clever and it only encouraged everybody to make a wreck.”
Lewis Hamilton:”The tow is key to obtaining a good lap here and everybody was slowing right down, and also blocking the way you couldn’t really get through. It was rather dangerous, I almost crashed a couple of times.
“I could not overtake anybody, there was flying and pruning, and it had been like trying to prevent carnage all the time.
Lance Stroll:”This is a small comedy series out there in Q3. The opportunity was just underestimated by everyone to the flag. I had been at the front of the queue and Nico had been playing with matches he cut the chicane trying to get me out ahead, and that I wasn’t buying it. So I had been taking my time, waiting for him to get back on course. Then afterwards other automobiles began overtaking me and it just became a wreck.”
Charles Leclerc:”I kind of expected it since obviously it has turned into a mess from the beginning of the weekend, however, notably in Q1 to Q3. I didn’t expect to find myself in a position such as the exit of Flip at which the Renault and McLaren was blocking completely the street and nobody could pass.”
Christian Horner:”The Renault which went straight on all caused all the problems. Needless to say, nobody wishes to be in the front of the queue and it is obvious he went. Then it ends up in a cluster situation.”
Toto Wolff:”The problem is that everyone is trying to get the slipstream and it’s a nerve game, who leaves. Then some who have exited first felt thought they will need to decrease the speed even more, going through the chicane and outside the track is just junior class.”
Cyril Abiteboul:”Everyone is talking about the fact that the gap ought to be quite low, but if that actually happens everyone is hoping to benefit from every single detail.”
