A part of this Inter Milan ultras team’Curva Nord’ have insisted the monkey chants were not intended to be racist.
After he was abused during Sunday’s 2-1 win last month lukaku, who signed in Manchester United Inter, required immediate action from the football authorities.
A team called’L’Urlo Della Nord’ state Lukaku”must understand” that – at Italy – lovers have”ways only to assist our teams and to attempt to produce enemies nervous” – and they don’t think them to be displaced.
In an overview on Facebook, the group said:”Hi Romelu, we’re writing you on behalf of Curva Nord, yes the guys who welcomed you at your birth in Milan. We are really sorry you thought was still racist.
“You have to understand that Italy is not like a number of other north European nations where racism is a true problem. We know that it could have appeared racist to you but it’s not like that.
“In Italy we utilize several”ways” only to”assist our teams” and to try to make our opponents stressed, maybe not for racism but to mess up them.
“We’re a multi-ethnic fans business and we have always welcomed players from everywhere. We have used that’manner’ with other teams’ players and we will later on.
“We aren’t racist and so are not the Cagliari fans”
The announcement went on to argue that the fight against racism should not start in soccer stadiums but in universities, which fans act otherwise in stadiums than in the external world.
On Tuesdaythe league’s disciplinary judge says he needed more proof before making a decision if Cagliari should be punished for its chants, that judge Gerardo Mastrandrea did not refer to “racist” in his weekly report.
Lukaku transformed the winning penalty in the game, and then as they directed the monkey chants glared at home fans behind the goal of Inter.
Everton ahead Moise Kean was also subject to racist abuse since was Blaise Matuidi annually earlier when he played against Cagliari last year.
The team did not sanction Cagliari for incident, nor did they perform when the supporters of precisely the team mistreated Sulley Muntari in 2017.
