Geraint Thomas, Simon Yates and Adam Yates on Great Britain UCI Road World Championships longlist

This month, Adam Yates, Simon Yates and geraint Thomas are Comprised in a Great Britain longlist for the UCI Road World Championships in Yorkshire.

Thomas, winner of the 2018 Tour de France, has set his sights on racing the guys’s elite time trial in 3 months’ time but is also part of the 15-strong longlist for the elite men’s race, where six names will be selected.
The Yates twins raced in the Tour de France, together with Simon collecting two stage wins however he is not protecting his Vuelta a Espana name this month and twin has competed because the Clasica San Sebastian in early August.
The longlist includes Thomas’ Ineos team-mates Luke Rowe, Tao Geoghegan Hart, Chris Lawless, Ian Stannard, Owain Doull and reigning champion Ben Swift, with the latter.
The list also contains Alex Dowsett, Hugh Carthy, Gabz Cullaigh, Adam Blythe, Matthew Holmes, along with Connor Swift.
Thomas, Dowsett and Hart are recorded for the time trial of the men, together with two to be chosen.
In the women’s ranks, former world champion Lizzie Deignan headlines a 13-strong longlist for the elite women’s race.
Reigning national winner Alice Barnes is listed alongside her husband Hannah, in Addition to Lizzy Banks, Dani Christmas, Rebecca Durrell, Natalie Grinczer, Anna Henderson, Lizzie Holden, Nikki Juniper, Hayley Simmonds, Sophie Wright and increasing star Pfeiffer Georgi.
Six riders will be selected from the list of hopefuls.
Both Barnes sisters, Georgi, Holden and Simmonds are longlisted for the time trial of your women, with just two.
The world championships take place from September 22.
