Main Event: Jon Jones (-285) vs. Alexander Gustafsson (+225)
The last time Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson faced off, roughly a year-and-a-half past, it was the former who emerged with the win. Though many thought Gustafsson could have had him, the judges awarded Jones a unanimous victory.
The chances last time around, however, were more in favor of Jones, with Gustafsson putting everywhere between +800 and +1000 lines. That they are so close now speaks to how well he cried in the first assembly, while also nodding towards just how much he has improved his fast-twitch stamina.
Nevertheless, Jones, who has not fought 17 weeks, has largely dominated everybody he’s come around in the Octagon. This battle should take more gas than he’s accustomed to consuming up, but he must pull it out and win the light heavyweight belt.
