Besides the stellar performance this season, of Nolan Arenado was a bust for the Colorado Rockies and it’s not getting.
Their way stumbled by producing the month of almost some year when they went 6-19 in July and followed by joining a franchise record for losses in the month of August when the team dropped 19 of 28 games the ignominious extend.
Since the Rockies enter this three-game set from the top team in the National League, they will hope that rookie starter Peter Lambert (2-5, 6.63 ERA, 1.63 WHIP) can right the ship after a stretch that’s seen Colorado lose 10 of their final 11 contests.
The 22-year-old rookie has neglected to escape the fifth inning in his past two appearances, becoming hit. Back in June, Lambert confronted the Dodgers in successive starts, surrendering a joint eight runs in nine-plus innings of work, in which LA won 5-4 and 12-8.
The Dodgers have hit some bumps in the road lately but nothing that may even remotely derail their chances of winning the division along with most likely catching the No. 1 seed in the National League when the playoffs roll around.
Los Angeles has dropped five of their eight and avoided getting swept from the Diamondbacks in the town when Joc Pederson went lawn in the very top of the inning to give his team a 4-3 extra-innings victory on Sunday.
Walker Buehler (11-3, 3.03 ERA, 1.02 WHIP) will take the bump today for the Dodgers and he has more than lived up to his illustrious charging after being chosen 24th overall at the 2015 draft.
In his second season in the big-league degree, Buehler has been named an All-Star and threw the complete game of his career back on June 21st from the team today he will face. Buehler allowed two runs on three hits and struck out 16 in a 4-2 LA success.
But under a week later the 6’2″ right-hander was tagged for seven runs on 13 hits in five-plus innings from exactly the identical team he stymied just six days before. The Rockies would go on to win that match 12-8 and avenge their loss.
The MLB odds are prohibitive on the Dodgers and we can’t be amazed. Big Blue has an absolute stud while the Rockies are desperately expecting that a light will turn and Peter Lambert will pitch his way through five innings without an excessive amount of damage.
I don’t see that occurring despite the current hiccups of LA but can’t place north of -300, which is exactly what the best online sportsbooks are currently asking on the house favorite.
Instead, I will turn knowing LA has won eight of their 10 games from the Rockies. Let’s bet the Dodgers -1 1/2 conducts (-140) in our MLB picks and money that Labor Day ticket!
