Chicago will look to hold onto it using a win on Thursday night and is in the wild card spot. The Cubs will look to keep up this trend with another triumph and have won six of the past eight games.
The Brewers are in position of the NL Central with a record of far. Milwaukee has dropped down somewhat in the next stages of the year, but are four games back in the wild card place. The Brewers have won four of their past six games and will look start this series with a much needed win at home.
The Cubs and the Brewers have had strong seasons up to now, but still, need to complete the season strong should they want to make a playoff berth. Chicago is holding onto a playoff spot, although Milwaukee has an uphill battle as they try and get back into the playoff picture. This should result in some four-game series that is really good.
The two series between these teams this season were at the early phases of the year. The Cubs and the Brewers split the first two series, moving 3-3 against each other. Both teams were able to win two games in the home, however there were lots of games in the initial six matchups.
The third collection of this year between these teams occurred at Milwaukee on July 26-28. Ben Gamel struck a 2 RBI single in the bottom of the inning to pull off with a 3-2 win for the Brewers. Keston Hiura hit on a two-run homer in the bottom of the tenth to drift off a 5-3 win at this series’ next game. Kyle Schwarber went with two home runs as the Cubs bounced back with an 11-4 win and seven RBI’s.
The fourth show shifted to Chicago on August 2-4. Jose Quintana allowed seven hits and two runs through six innings to help the Cubs win 6-2 in the first match. Cole Hamels allowed no runs and four hits to give Chicago a 4-1 win. The Cubs finished the sweep of this show having a 7-2 win in the series’ final game.
The latest show was under a week ago between September 1 and August 30. Jose Quintana had another strong start as he allowed no runs and four hits in a 7-1 Cubs triumph. Manny Pina struck a two-run single in the second game in the top of this first and the Brewers rode it to end their losing streak. Christian Yelich hit on a three-run homer as Milwaukee completed with a 4-0 triumph, to ice the match.
As he has set up 149 strikes, javier Baez has experienced a strong season for Chicago, 29 home runs and 85 RBI’s. Kris Bryant has made 64, 26 homers and hits RBI’s. Anthony Rizzo includes hits. While Yasmani Grandal has 108 hits, 22 home runs and 64 RBI’s ryan Braun has strikes with 18 home runs and 58 RBI’s this year. Eric Thames and Orlando Arcia both have double-digit home runs also this year.
The Cubs have the better lineup, although these two teams have solid lineups. Chicago has a great deal of powerful hitters throughout their team and it shows in their home run numbers. It has been ripping up this year and the Cubs will seem to throw him around. Lorenzo Cain and moustakas could miss the game for the Brewers as well, which might hurt a good deal.
Jose Quintana will start for Chicago against the Brewers on Thursday . Quintana includes a 12-8 record. He’s set up an impressive 3.90 ERA and a WHIP of both 1.280. His last start came against the Brewers, where he allowed four hits. Quintana has played five games against Milwaukee this season.
The Brewers will have Chase Anderson begin to the mound on Thursday night. He’s gone 6-4 through 27 matches this season. He’s set up an ERA of 4.58 and a WHIP of both 1.293 in those matches. Anderson’s last start came against the Cubs, in which he allowed seven hits and five runs . He has a 1-1 record in three starts against Chicago this year.
Quintana was the starter that was better, although both these pitchers have had solid seasons. Quintana has won his past two games against Milwaukee this season and he will seem to make it three in a row with a powerful start. Anderson got lit up by the Cubs in his very final match and will look to find some revenge with a much needed win for the Brewers.
The Cubs have gone 9-8 against Milwaukee this season because we enter the last set of the season. The Brewers will sponsor this string, but I think that Chicago will make a triumph to open up this collection. The Cubs have the greater hitting lineup and pitcher . Milwaukee has won the previous two games against Chicago, but I think that series will develop a Cubs win on Thursday night.
