Carabao Cup draw: Chelsea play Manchester United, Liverpool host Arsenal in fourth round

Four of the giants of football will face off at the Carabao Cup fourth round whilst Arsenal journey to Liverpool, once Chelsea were drawn to sponsor Manchester United.
Chelsea will be seeking to avenge their defeat at Old Trafford on the opening day of this entire year, although Liverpool will be trying to expand their nine-game unbeaten run.
“It’s a large draw, two large teams and I am pleased we’re in the home,” explained Chelsea boss Frank Lampard. “Man United will bring a solid team .”
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer claims his side will relish taking on Chelsea in the fourth round.
“If you wish to win it, you have to beat the best,” Solskjaer stated following Manchester United’s penalty shootout victory against Rochdale. “We are likely to relish it and look ahead .”
Although Leicester will journey into Sky Bet League One Burton, who knocked out Bournemouth on Wednesday, the draw also generated a Midlands derby, together with Aston Villa hosting giants.
While his former club Watford will be hosted by Marco Silva’s Everton Carabao Cup winners of their four seasons, manchester City, have already been given a home draw from Southampton.
Colchester, that beat against Tottenham in the last round on fines, have now been rewarded with a trip to Crawley, that beat at Stoke on fines on Tuesday.
Oxford, that thrashed West Ham 4-0 in the third round, will perform in your home to fellow League One side Sunderland.
The fittings will take place in the week beginning October 28.
Sky Sports’ Oliver Yew:
The Carabao Cup usually represents a chance for the leading clubs of the Premier League to shuffle their packs throughout what is a interval of soccer.
Wednesday evening’s fourth-round draw will probably have left Unai Emery, Jurgen Klopp, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Frank Lampard with plenty to consider since they ponder potentially three games.
Liverpool’s squad will be tested with matches against Arsenal from the Carabao Cup and Tottenham in the Premier League in succession after a Champions League trip to Genk. With the Reds sitting Klopp will surely be forced into playing any, if not all, of his fringe players.
What about Arsenal? They have European obligations of their own and face Vitoria de Guimaraes at the Premier League at Crystal Palace and the Europa League before the trip to Anfield. Will Emery break gamers in Europe in an attempt to acquire a stronger line-up out from Liverpool – a negative they haven’t defeated in their final nine attempts – or can he stick with the mix of experience and youth that watched Nottingham Forest in fine fashion?
Then throw Chelsea vs Manchester United for good measure, if Liverpool vs Arsenal isn’t enough.
Chelsea have already suffered in the hands of United this year – 4-0 defeat at Old Trafford on the season’s launching day. When the clubs meet at Stamford Bridge lampard will wish to prevent the identical fate, but he will have trips to Ajax and Burnley to variable into the line-up he chooses to face United.
And the pressure is mounting in United, that have a schedule coming up on Solskjaer. The trip to Chelsea will turn off the rear of visits to Partizan Belgrade and Norwich, not to mention matches from Newcastle at St James’ Park and Liverpool at Old Trafford.
There is a lot of preparation ahead for some of the top managers of the Premier League.
