Bernardo Silva: Kick It Out calls on FA to act over Man City player’s tweet

Kick Out It has called to behave after the governing body also confirmed it was exploring a tweet delivered by the Bernardo Silva of Manchester City.
Silva compared City team-mate Benjamin Mendy to the personality over Conguitos’ plot – a brand available in Spain and Portugal.
“We are extremely disappointed to observe the tweet posted by Bernardo Silva,” stated the anti-discrimination body.
Manchester City declined to comment.
The article was printed at 12:44 BST on Sunday but had been deleted at 13:30 BST.
Bernardo then tweeted:”can’t even joke with a friend these days.”
France international Mendy and Silva are friends before both combined City in 2017, and performed at Monaco.
Mendy did not appear to take offence and responded to this tweet.
A Kick Out It announcement included:”Racist stereotypes are not acceptable as’banter’, and we are shocked that someone who is a role model to countless has failed to understand the discriminatory character of his post.
“The FA have been advised and we feel that retrospective action ought to be taken, including mandatory education – that is very important to combat offensive behavior like this.”
