Andy Murray given Shanghai wild card

World No 1 Andy Murray has been given a wild card for the Shanghai Pros of following month.
The three-time Grand Slam winner is continuing his comeback – this summer, with eased his way into action by playing doubles.
He’s set for a busy fall including three months in China, starting in Beijing and Zhuhai, and cried at the Shanghai Masters, where he is a champion.
He said:”I’m really looking forward to return into Shanghai, a championship I’ve had success at in the past – the previous time I had been there was in 2016.
“Thanks to this championship for a wild card, then it is great to be able to continue my comeback and play tennis in China.
“Shanghai is a wonderful city, I’m comfortable there and the fans are always supportive.”
Murray endured first round exits since the operation on his hip in the Cincinnati Masters along with also the Winston-Salem Open in his early singles outings.
He then played a Challenger event in Spain before distributing where he attained the last 16.
The Zhuhai Championships begin on September 23 – and Murray has also signed for the European Open.
