Joe Root: I’m the right man to lead England’s Test cricket team

Joe Root has insisted that he remains the man to take England’s cricket team despite criticism of his own captaincy.
During the Ashes, Test captain Root scored 325 runs at 32.5, the next most runs from an England player and also the sixth most overall.
He also took three wickets at 40.66 and created seven grabs, with just wicket-keeper Jonny Bairstow producing more for its hosts.
However, since becoming captain his batting has endured and Australia retained the Ashes with a 2-2 draw, however, Root insists he’s the right person to lead the side in future.
He explained:”I need to be captain 100 per cent. I love it.
“I am very honoured to captain England and I wish to take this team forward.
“I really do believe I’m the ideal man to take action. Hopefully I can find the financing and I can prove everyone right.”
Even the 28-year-old Yorkshire batsman also admitted the famous plan to turn their game around of England, this summer, culminating in their magnificent World Cup win, had to be replicated from cricket.
He continued:”Winning the Ashes rear is really a huge focus for English cricket, it needs to be today.
“Winning down in Australia are a wonderful accomplishment and for me as Test captain I want to actually push this.
“We will need to be as ready as we can be and that ought to begin now. I’m actually looking forward to beginning that this winter and it will be an extremely exciting trip.”
One-day and T20 vice-captain Jos Buttler said the team had the hallmarks of Root captaincy.
“Joe’s place his stamp on the group already! He has been captain for a little while. Obviously we want more consistent effects but we have got the makings of an excellent team.”
Bowler Stuart Broad added:”You only need to appear at Joe’s captaincy album, and it’s more successful than most England captains. The players have been well aware we can be consistent, and we’re going to deliver that.”
