Bettor wagers $85K to win $1.19M on Tiger Woods to claim Masters | Las Vegas Review-Journal

If Tiger Woods wins his fifth green jacket Sunday, at least one Las Vegas bettor will feel like a million bucks. Literally.
A William Hill gambler Tuesday placed an $85,000 bet to win $1.19 million on Woods to catch the Masters at 14-1 odds. The wager represents the largest liability for an individual golf wager in William Hill’s U.S. history.
“It is going to earn a terrific tournament even more interesting, if that’s even possible,” William Hill sportsbook manager Nick Bogdanovich explained.
Woods hasn’t won the Experts since 2005, along with his win in the Tour Championship in September was his first victory in more than five decades.
“He’s playing nicely. Obviously has a shooter,” Bogdanovich said. “However, the top tier of players is really deep today, you must play four excellent rounds to get it done.”
Woods is the Masters money leader in the Westgate, in which a bettor put a $10,000 wager to win $120,000 for him to win at Augusta National Golf Club.
