Kentucky start to the season struck a specially harsh pothole.
On their way to going the Wildcats dropped junior quarterback Terry Wilson into a knee accident.
Wilson started all 13 games last season, showing an accurate arm and rushing threat that helped Kentucky.
In his place, Kentucky will begin after Wilson went down last 26, copy Sawyer Smith, that went.
Smith is a graduate transfer from Troy. He went 5-2 after taking more than a starter last season, passing for 14 touchdowns and 1,669 yards.
