History proves that when backing in the top tryscorer industry, it pays to follow New Zealand wingers and full-backs. The All Blacks have provided the top tryscorer on five occasions (Craig Green/John Kirwan 1987, Jonah Lomu 1995 & 1999, Doug Howlett/Mils Muliaina 2003 and Julian Savea in 2015).
It’s a mark of depth and their talent in the New Zealand rear three that a player having less than a couple of test starts heads the current marketplace, that man is Sevu Reece. The 22-year-old burst onto the scene in his debut season, scoring 15 attempts (a league high) as the Crusaders secured another Super Rugby title.
After his period Reece forced his way into the team of Steve Hansen and scored his first All Blacks try. With question marks enclosing normal starter Rieko Ioane, Reece looks set to obtain a great deal of game time at the group stages where fixtures against Canada, Italy and Namibia provide ample opportunity to stand up the attempts.
Reece in the squad’s addition feels similar to the Joe Rokocoko who scored 6 tries and burst onto the scene in 2003. So while it isn’t usually my way to go with a favorite in this current marketplace, Reece seems too clear to miss.
My next choice at the top tryscorer marketplace is another winger. Codes were switched by the former rugby league star 2017 and may be set for a breakout tournament. While his tally of 5 tries in 18 looks may not jump off the page, but that may have been a product of the group around him.
Australia look to have discovered a balance that is much better in their own backline with the return of James O’Connor from the centres providing guile alongside the ram Samu Kerevi. Together with Kurtley Beale place to fill the boots of Israel Folau in 15, Koroibete should be given lots of chances to improve his tally.
Add to his games from Uruguay, Georgia and Fiji in the groups needs to be open, a plenty with tries — at 66/1 he is well worth chancing.
England head to Japan full of confidence after strong performances in one individual who is essential to their hopes and the warm-up games is Manu Tuilagi.
The ball center is putting a run of games together having showcased in 2019 in every England fixture. He brought chaos against Ireland at Twickenham a couple of weeks.
Crucially that operation came with Tuilagi lining up in outside centre (he played at inside center during the Six Nations) — playing in that extra space actually simplifies the 28-year-olds abilities where he can attack the external channels and doesn’t constantly face a couple of man tackles.

That the Boks face a straightforward group stage if you fancy as I do them to go deeply into the tournament and where points should flow against Namibia , then Pollard is going to be the guy kicking conversions and the penalties.
Out of the market principles he appears the most solid in my own eyes and given his test album, his best cost of 5/1 will not continue long.
