But there have been three incredible sportswomen right at the center of the activity.
With a combined age of simply 62, Brigid Kosgei, Simone Biles and Coco Gauff added their names to the history books.

On Sunday, Simone Biles became the most decorated gymnast in World Championships history, incorporating two gold medals to her amazing haul.

Compatriot Coco Gauff became the youngest player to win a WTA title in 15 years with victory.
The 15-year-old – that only qualified for the primary draw as a lucky loser after defeat in the last round of qualifying – won 6-3 1-6 6-2 and can be set to maneuver within the worlds top 75, having begun the season ranked well beyond the upper 600.
It has been an incredible week, I am hoping to return again. Ill remember this moment for the rest of my entire life, explained Atlanta-born Gauff.
